The North-East has undergone a radical change over recent decades. This in turn has dramatically affected the places where people live and the quality of life they expect. Population loss in the region is often most visible in our older industrial towns and villages. It is here that the least popular forms of housing are suffering problems of property abandonment and general community decline.
Three Rivers has a dedicated Development & Regeneration Team that works in partnership with local people, local authorities, the private sector and other agencies to help turn around these communities. Often our involvement is not just about the provision of housing.

In the last few years, Three Rivers has received some of the largest funding allocations from the Housing Corporation for new developments in the North East.
Together with our access to substantial private and other public funding sources, we have been able to develop circa 140 good quality homes to rent or sell under our home ownership initiatives over the past two years.
In 2004, The Sprit Partnership (formerly known as North East Partnership Homes) - our strategic partnership with Tees Valley Housing Group, Two Castles Housing Group, Erimus Housing, Coast and County Housing and Housing Hartlepool - became an approved pilot partnership by the Housing Corporation. Thus enabling us to significantly increase levels of investment in the region and the quality of the homes we are providing.
We work in partnership with private developers, local authorities, health authorities, social services, care providers, voluntary groups and universities to provide a range of social and market rented properties.
