For the 3rd year running the Sherburn Road Summer Fete working group lead by Susan Thompson and supported by Three Rivers Housing, Riverside, New Durham Residents Association and Pelaw View Community Association will be putting together a list of events to hopefully improve on previous years performances. Last year’s fete was a great success 600 people attended raising money for local charities and we hope to build on that success this year.
We are hoping that those who made sterling efforts last year will be able to help once again, and it would be great to include more people too.
All suggestions and ideas for stalls and events would be warmly welcomed and, of course, volunteers.
This is a free family event which aims to bring residents and organisations on the estate together in order for neighbours to get to know one another better and play an active part in their community.
The day will include lots of family fun including a bouncy castle, multi sports, a penalty shoot out competition, table tops including cakes, handmade cards, bric-a-brac, raffles, Climbing wall, Martial Arts display and a tombola.
This year’s summer fete in Laural Avenue Community Centre, Sherburn Road will be on Thurday 19th August 2010 11am-3pm.
Event Date 19/08/2010
