We encourage them to develop their careers through skills training and job enrichment. Many of our staff take up opportunities to gain new skills and experiences during their time here at Three Rivers through new projects and responsibilities.

Training and Development
As a Investor in People organisation, we are dedicated to helping our staff to develop and gain the skills they need to do their jobs and to progress with their careers. We offer a mix of in-house (our head office in Durham has a training room) and external training in a wide variety of skills and subjects.
All new staff complete a two-day inducation programme to help them familiarise and understand the way the organisation works. It also helps them understand some of our key policies such as Health & Safety and Equal Opportunities.
Staff Liaison Group
Representative staff from across the organisation meet and discuss work-based issues with senior management staff under this group. The aim of the group is to raise mutual matters of concern and to make proposals which may improve working conditions and environment.
